About
Prof. (Dr.) P K Panda, was born in the Village Jamalpur, Baliapal in the Balasore , District of Odisha, on 22 nd May, 1961. He completed his Graduate Couse in Ayurveda (BAMS) from Gopabandhu Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Puri,(1987) followed by Post Graduation (M.D. Ayurveda) from Banaras Hindu University (1992) and Ph.D. from Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi (2005).
Coming from humble background, he began his professional journey as Assistant Professor of Ayurveda at Government Ayurveda College, Balangir (1992) and moved on to become Associate Professor and Senior Professor in the P.G. Dept. of Roga Nidan. In his academic career spanning 34 years, he has taught thousands of students both at graduate and post graduate level and also served as the in-charge Principal, Govt. Ayurvedic College, Balangir. Post his superannuation in May, 2021 he joined as Professor and Dean, Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital, Sri Sri University, Cuttack in June, 2021 and is continuing his services till date. Taken the charge of Medical superintendent in the month of April 2024 and Promoted to Medical Director in the month of September 2025.
Prof. Panda has been a clinical researcher and has treated lakhs of patients in his professional career, with special focus on sickle cell disease along with Auto immune diseases. Keeping pace with developing scenario and emerging trends of Integrative Medicine, he has been deeply involved in the collaborative research studies in modern scientific research with many universities of national and international repute.
In August 2022, Prof. Panda was honoured with the appointment as the Chairman, Clinical Research (Scientific Advisory Group) in the Central Council of Research in Ayurvedic Science, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India.
Till date Prof. Panda has published 74 research papers in journals of national and international repute, written 08 books and completed 06 research projects. He has guided more than 27 Ph.D. Scholars and 22 P.G. Scholars in Ayurveda.
He has been awarded with the Fellowship of International Academy of Ayurveda Physician (FIAP) Jamnagar, Fellowship in Indian Proctology Society (FIPS) and Nidan Ratna from Bhubaneswar. He has presented more than 100 talks in All India Radio and Doordarshan regarding the subjects of his expertise.
