Sharir kriya deals with the study of human being in relation to its physiological norms as described in Ayurved in the form of dosha, dhatu and mala. This subject provides the ground base knowledge of body, mind and sense functions and dysfunctions which helps in critical understanding of disease process and insight to disease management and prevention. The purpose of kriya sharira is to explore the normal function of living organism and their principle, mechanism and actions. This subject provides the ground base knowledge of body, mind and sense functions and dysfunction which help in critical understanding of disease process and insight to disease management and prevention. This department deals with the basic concepts, knowledge and applicability of Tridosha (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), Sapta Dhatu (Tissues), Mala (Excretory Products) Prakriti (Concept Of Genetics), Mana (Mind), Nidra (Physiology Of Sleep), Oja (Immunity),. The etiopathogenesis of disease cannot be explained unless dosha dhatu and mala is assessed subjectively and objectively. This subject is therefore the base for proper understanding of Ayurveda and its great importance for a medical student to understand all subjects. Its vision is to obtain optimum level of knowledge of concepts and practical applicability of sharira kriya. Its objective is to develop objective parameter of the entities related to kriya sharir viz. Tridosha, Sapta Dhatu, Malas, Agni, Srotas, Prakriti etc based on modern technology and cutting edge research in better understanding of various body functions, to develop various research lab from Ayurved point of view like Autonomic function lab,Yoga research lab, stress physiology lab.
