It’s always an honor and privilege to introduce the Ayurveda Samhita and Siddhanta department which holds the testimonial background of Ayurveda today. The word Samhita is consisting of two words i.e. Samyak and Hita. It conveys the meaning i.e. “absolutely good” and these are time tasted over the period hence called as Siddhanta i.e. philosophy or principles.

This department mainly stands upon three major classical texts collectively known as Brihatrayees. These are directly influenced by Indian system of philosophy and used it for better understanding of life science without diluting its own principles. Though the list of other Samhitas do not end here, still they can be considered as further zooming of required focused areas in different subjects and contexts keeping three texts in center. Further to precise, the practice and principles of health and medicine is best explained in Charaka Samhita whereas detailed understanding of human anatomy and followed by its surgical principles are the core subjects of Sushruta Samhita especially Shareera Sthana. Last but not the least simplifying the core concepts by taking the cream out work with an incredible in depth understanding done by Vagbhatta in Sutra Sthana of Astanga Hridaya. Along with these master texts the Sanskrit subject, Padartha Vigyan and Ayurveda Itihas subject papers also included in the study curriculum which details are given in following format.
